Me and Plans

5 min read
Hello, you may not have heard me for awhile, but my name (profile one) is DeviousCooper here, and Agandaur on fanfiction.net. I am mainly a writer with a little dabbling in drawing and speciality in 3D art and animation. I am a major fan of the Sly Cooper series, with a good chunk of my work over the years for hobbies dedicated toward making a fanfiction trilogy intended to wrap up the series and give room for different stories to be told. This trilogy was started over 7 years ago with the first fanfiction, an effort I am proud to say was the first to be named Sly Cooper: Master of Thieves, the rumored next game, on fanfiction.net.

The book had what seemed to me a pretty good start by fans, with people liking the introduction of my character, Devious Deviant, being one of the main highlights. Devious is the cousin of Sly Cooper, and is the nephew of Connor Cooper, Sly's father, by his half brother James Deviant. Devious was brought in as a big brother character, who was established to explain why Sly grew up an orphan safely and why more of his dad's enemies weren't after him as the should have been. He was revealed to have been there when Sly's parents died, and was given a few interesting details to explain his closeness such as the gift of Sly's first thieving mask and helping Sly through therapy.

Another highlight people liked from the book was the telling of how Sly's memories are repressed, and that he doesn't fully know what happened the night of his parents murder nor what came after. With the few moments in the book, it was teasing that his dad and uncle were being hunted by not just Clockwerk but someone else, an effort that would ultimately end with their deaths. In order to cover it up and keep him safe, Sly's Godfather, a character who didn't play a big role in the original writing as he was supposed to, repressed Sly's memories so he wouldn't be endangered by his father's and uncles past.

Since then, the book has gone threw several rewrites and the trilogy as a whole has been refocused larger to focus on particular things and establish certain characters as integral. Right now, the series aims to focus on three main themes encompassing each book, with each dedicated toward the cast and their particular problems they need to address. The first book deals with sins of the past, and is meant to focus on Sly and Devious, with Penelope serving as main villain as the three have much in common and establishes a focus on the book. The second book deals with overcoming, with Sly and his friends, Devious and his League, and even the villains Lucius and his siblings learning to outgrow who they are and find what they want to be. The final book will focus on legacy, which is meant to gather the cast of the trilogy together in order to finish it in a way that leaves the series with proper sendoff without question of the future.

Regarding characters, this series is set to focus on Sly and his friends, Murray, Bentley, Carmelita, and a couple other from past games. However, it also introduces new ones such as Devious Deviant and Sabastian Praxtor, two character who have ties to Sly's family and will be chief characters. As well as this, this will be a tale that also focuses on the villains struggles too, as Lucius and his siblings are setup to be near polar opposites of Sly, but with questionable motivations and curious desires. There is also the Deviant League, a group led by Devious Deviant with characters who also have their own stories to tell too, however they will be written in a spinoff not connected to the main trilogy for the most part. Also, there is Carmelita's parents and more Interpol cast coming in too, as the stakes rise so to do those who try to prevent it.

Right now, I am writing out biographies for everyone to read about these characters so that they are written down and easy to access for those not following the story. While they are going to be written pieces, I do intend to draw and in time animate or 3D model them to give proper display of who they are and what they can do. While I do that, I will also be working on telling the story as well, though that will probably take longer due to the constant character checking and timeline corrections. I will update both as the months continue, such as if their character has new trivia, a background change that makes more sense, or some little thing I think makes the story better.

In conclusion, this post is meant to explain more about me while establishing my plans to keep things going and that I have not given up on this tale. I also want to apologize to any who have been following me over the years, or have shown interest in this series. I'm sorry for my constant changes and even nature when it comes to collaborations, as I won't lie I do feel annoyed that on a website like this where art rules, great writing gets tossed aside for favor of flashy picture-work. I want to say that I have appreciated and value any support you or anyone else gives to this series effort, as while I may not be able to repay it greatly, the support means the world to me.

    Sincerely,
DeviousCooper aka Agandaur

After weeks of debating, planning, and thinking, I have finally laid out a base for where I want this Sly Cooper series I'm developing to go. While it will of course still be fanfiction, I think I have finally gotten something that could, with effort, become a true and interesting finale to the Sly cooper series. While I won't lay out details yet, I have put out a new writing piece deciated to my first batch of laid out characters I seek to introduce.

I. Am. Back!!!

I can't come up with a concrete, great story for Sly Cooper's main baddy, Clockwerk, that doesn't cause people to question out wonder about his past. There are so many idea I am thinking of, but because of how the sereis is, combined with the ability of time travel, and the mystery that is his background, I can't think of a grand idea to tell. Worst, part, I can't share them because some are pretty neat, some are questionable, and some are far to spoilery to say.

After a long, long time away's, I've found renewed purpose in writing. For those who don't know, I've have been writing Sly Cooper as my fanfictions, with the series intending to wrap the existing cast, bring in some new ones, and hopefully give the series the conclusion's finally it rightfully deserves.

However, I suffered the dreadful curse of many writers, in that I had no idea where or how I was going to get the story to be told how I really believe it could be done in the games. While I have still struggled with it, I've settled on this story being told more as a television series or cinematic approach with instead. Chapters will include what other characters are up to, flashbacks to the past and events coming to play in the present, and plenty of interesting drama to go around.

With this new found resolve, I am going to do another go back at characters and story elements that already exist, with the idea to finally get it right and ready to be told down this long, very much epic series to tell the many unanswered questions in Sly Cooper. This includes many of my previous works on here, which I will update anyone still following or who cares about this story of mine as I go to give everyone the right amount of detail and interest on what I have planned.
